ABOUT THE ARTIST
Una Sullivan studied Advanced and Experimental Lettering at The City and Guilds of London Art School and has subsequently undertaken calligraphic work and the design and carving of inscriptions and decorative work in stone.
Aside from commissioned work, Una’s focus is on small scale pieces of an intimate nature. Working in fine textured limestones, slate, and gesso panels, she engages with an interest in the experiential nature of poetry and the challenge presented when responding to such language via the medium of lettering.
As a direct result of commemorative work, Una has developed an appreciation of flowers and their structure and makes use of this rich resource for design.
