This letterpress print is 40cm x 30cm and is printed on Daler-Rowney Rose Grey Murano paper. The image is black and the text is fluorescent orange.

The text which inspired this print was a half remembered playground threat from the artists childhood…I thought about subverting the violence behind it by turning it into a bunch of flowers made from printers fists.

The artist experimented with setting curves but settled on more anarchic angular stems as it all went a bit Monty Pythonesque!

About the artist

Elizabeth Fraser is an artist printmaker experimenting with the analogue processes of hand set letterpress type and linocut from her Cambridgeshire garden studio. Inspired by the invisible connections and structures that verbal and written language make in our lives she uses colour, pattern and space to create her playful work. Elizabeth also has an interest in using art as a means to explore and engage with science to create greater understanding and appreciation of their shared basis of creative enquiry.
