Matt Loughlin

Matt Loughlin is an American letter-cutter and stone carver based in Somerset, England.

His career began as a fashion graphic designer. After ten years Matt decided to pursue a career as a letter-cutter and was the beneficiary of a two-year apprenticeship awarded by the Lettering Arts Trust, where he trained full-time under Master letter-cutter Eric Marland to learn his craft. Matt was the Lettering Arts Trust’s ninth apprentice.

Matt established his Memorial Workshop in 2021 where he creates bespoke, hand-carved memorials, as well as fine art.

Recent commissions include work for St. Edmond’s College, Cambridge and the Royal Literary Fund.  His artwork has been shown at the Moorwood Gallery in Bruto
