Dan Meek
I am a Norfolk based stone carver and letter cutter, working nationwide.
I trained as a stonemason, and architectural stone carver in Bath, qualifying in 1993. I spent the next 13 years working as a traditional journeyman stonemason and stone-carver. In 2006 I started working for the Commonwealth War Graves Commission restoring and conserving 1st and 2nd World War monuments across the British Isles.
However, seeking new creative challenges I decided to concentrate more on fine letter carving, relief carving and one-of-a-kind commissions. As a result , in 2009 I successfully applied for and was awarded a Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust scholarship to receive tuition from Norfolk based stone carver and letter cutter Teucer Wilson (who I still work for to this day).
My current work includes memorials, headstones, plaques and sculptural pieces, in slate, stone and marble.
