Artist Statement:

I started working with stone in August 2014. Initially I completed a 'pre-apprenticeship Stonemasons' course at Edinburgh College, before going on to work as a masons mate at various companies for the following 3 years.

I was fortunate enough to secure an 18 month 'Craft Fellowship' through Historic Scotland. I spent the duration of this time learning and working with the East Lothian carver and letterer - Gardner Molloy. The Craft Fellowship also allowed me to spend a week further developing my lettering with Tom Perkins and Eric Marland in Cambridge.

Since completing my fellowship I have continued working closely with Gardner Molloy, and practising my own lettering where I can.
